First Night Dinner

Hi 10 days and counting til my first trip/honeymoon to Maui!!! Cannot wait!!! My flight gets in at 6:30PM and we are heading straight to the Maui Kai--where we are staying--just north of Kaanapali. Any recommendations for a nice (not horribly expensive) dinner in the area for 2 extremely tired travelers?? Thanks!!! :):)

First Night Dinner

what about sansei%26#39;s? there%26#39;s one close to you at the Kapalua Shops. thursday and friday nights from 10-1 are karaoke and 50% off sushi. super tasty

First Night Dinner

Good question! To add to CuriousCat%26#39;s query, our flight doesn%26#39;t get in until 9pm. Is there anywhere in the Kaanapali area open late that serves delicious food and drinks?

Our tentative plan is to have dinner the first night at the Maui Brewing Co, which I believe is near Kahana, north of the Maui Kai. You can find their website (the obvious URL) and check out the menus and prices. Not cheap, but not Spagos either. I just love craft beers, so I thought it might be fun to check it out. They have a very affordable looking ';late night'; menu, 10:00pm -1:00am, with burgers and pizza and so forth.

I%26#39;ve never been there, and you don%26#39;t hear much about them from the TA crowd, so it might be awful. Don%26#39;t hate me if it is. Just checked out the reviews and they look pretty good, though.

We%26#39;ll be your next door neighbors at the Mahana. Have a good trip.

That%26#39;s a great recommendation, thanks so much. Afforable is key! =)

We always visit Maui Brewing Co. on our trips to Maui, and love their dinner menu (haven%26#39;t sampled the 10p.m to 1 a.m.) tho. For dinner, their fish and seafood preparations are excellent, and they have a very tasty prime rib as well. We enjoy listening to the live music during dinner, and their ';Wild Hog Stout'; is great. Although it%26#39;s a beautiful restaurant, it%26#39;s lacking in tropical atmosphere - that%26#39;s the only drawback. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for all the info! :) I%26#39;ll look into those places...

Congratulations! We%26#39;ve stayed at the Maui Kai. I think you%26#39;ll love it! I guess it depends how tired we were. If we had any energy at all, we%26#39;d go the the Whaler Village%26#39;s Hula Grill (or its connected more casual section closest to the ocean, Barefoot Bar which also serves food. What an atmosphere to welcome honeymooners to Maui! There may be somewhat of a wait after you get your name of the list (usually not more than 20 or 30 min.) however, where we take the time to walk the along-the-ocean path. Be sure to have restaurant validate your parking. If we were pretty much gone, we%26#39;d just pick up some fast food along the way (or something prepared plus something to drink from Star Market--just a couple of blocks from your condo), go to the room, and sit out on our lanai to unwind before bed.
