If you are comfortable driving a ';land yacht';, I learned in a Buick Electra, it is no different than a hugh SUV or the 10 passenger tour vans you will see on the road.
I disagree with the previous post, because some locals have set up stands and they want people to not wizz by. I don%26#39;t care what you drive around the island, some people by nature are just impatient.
I just did the road in a Dodge Charger, it was fine! I am sure who ever is coming the other way will get out of the way of the beast. There are a few tight areas but nothing that is too bad. I would also suggest doing the south part of the island. They say it is a bad road but I disagree. Most of it is paved and there are very few areas of gravel. Take care, and enjoy!
Might just depend on how you and yours feel about not having a lot of room on either side of the car on turns and bridges. Mrs. S. got nervous in a Neon. Probably more so on the road from Kapalua to Wailuku. We saw people in a Hummer 3 on the road to Hana and thanked our lucky stars they were parked at a rest stop.
Thanks for all the helpful responses! I guess I%26#39;ll stick with what I got.
I%26#39;m assuming it%26#39;s a rental car?? Just remember, some rental car companies don%26#39;t allow you to take their cars on the road to Hana.
