Maui Trip Report and Pics!

Arrived on Sept 11th to some gorgeous weather and made it to big beach by 2pm. At that point I was already happy as a clam. I wont give a detailed report but just the jist of the things we did. Went to as many beaches as possible along the south shore. We swam and snorkeled so many times. We swam with turtles at Makena Surf beach and at the Maui Prince Hotel Beach. We made it to Lanai for a few hours with a boat company, no dolphin sightings this time :( but we got to see a pod of them off of Big Beach which was pretty cool. I think i set a new record in getting to Hamoa beach. Left straight from Charlies in Paia to the beach. Made it in about a hour and 30 mins or less. ALthough i dont recommend going so fast on a wet windy road. I locked up the brakes but luckily no cars were coming and I didnt go off the side of the road. It was cloudy the whole way but it was like Hamoa beach knew I was coming and the Sun made its way out. We were the only ones at the beach for a hour at 10am. The body surfing was sensational, must easier on the body than big beach. We left Hamoa and headed for some hiking to Waimouku Falls at Oheo Gulch. THe hike was fairly easy I thought. Much easier than the Na Pali coast hike in Kauai. The bamboo forest was very cool and the waterfall was well worth the hike. We did plenty of laying on the beach to relax. The best restaurant we went to was Nicks FishMarket at the Fairmont Kea Loni. The Mahi Mahi and Ahi were ... WOW!!! Im not a big fish lover but my goodness it was fantastic. Yeah the waiters who bring you water are a bit annoying because its every 10 seconds but its kinda nice being called by your last name and pampered a bit. We also went to Capische and had a great meal but I think Nick%26#39;s won out this time. The fish tacos at JAWS taco truck at big beach are sooo good. Made it to Alexanders a couple times for some deep fried heart attack goodness. All in all we had lots of fun. The weather was great, no humidity and the hottest it was all week was 91.
