Anyone been to honolulu at the end of Dec/Jan? If I%26#39;m going I need to book soon, but I%26#39;m a little leary of the weather. I want plenty of relaxing beach time! Please let me know!

That%26#39;s a great site for weather now and in the near future, thanks! I really wanted to know if it is really warm enough for beach bathing. I did see a site with monthly averages which was somewhat reassuring, but I wanted to know from people that have been there at that time - was it really warm and did the rain really become an issue or was it sporatic?
we were there dec 2005 and the weather was very nice. we were there for 7days and it rained one day for about 10-15 min and then beautiful weather again. i did need a light jacket in the evenings, but then i%26#39;m always cold.

the weather in Hawaii changes from year to year. It%26#39;s not so reliable here as many parts of the mainland that one month will be dry every year while another is wet. Last December was unusually dry. I%26#39;ve also seen December very wet. It depends on when the systems form in the Pacific and whether they stall over the islands, as to which months get the most winter rain (in my observation).
One thing about the Hawaiian islands, due to the mountains blocking rain, if the rain comes from one direction one can usually find the sun by going to the other side. (Not always, but often).
I guess the answer to the question is that if you come to Hawaii during the winter, you can%26#39;t expect 100% sunshine. It%26#39;s warm here, but we still have winter and get rain. Of course if you%26#39;re only here for a week you might hit a totally dry patch, but it%26#39;s impossible to predict that accurately in September, I don%26#39;t care what any weather forecasting site may say.
We were in Hawaii last Dec./Jan. and had beautiful weather (as the previous poster stated) I guess it was a dry Dec. though. We are going again this Dec. and can only hope for the beautiful weather we had last year. It is definately warm out. Beautiful weather for snorkeling and beaches. You will need a sweater/jacket for the evenings!
We were there Jan. 2006. Wonderful weather, couldn%26#39;t have been better. We were in Hono in July and the crowds are much worse in summer time. So lather up and have a great time.
