Dates to avoid in February?

We are planning a trip (from England) to Maui and the Big Island in February 2007. Are there any dates to avoid? As old fogeys we would like to be as child, teenager and crowd-free as possible. And are there any hotels or places that would meet this requirement better than others? Any advice gratefully received.

Feb and August are the 2 highest visitor months in Hawaii, the 3 day presidents holiday mid month brings lots of families. So too does the weather

Thank you, this is very helpful. Tiddy Dols ... THAT takes me back. Used to work near there. But no good news, I%26#39;m afraid. Haven%26#39;t been round that way for ages, but they no longer appear in the London phone book, which is a very bad sign.
