I%26#39;ve tried to book a catamaran snorkel tour at the North Coast and they said I can%26#39;t go while I am pregnant. I also can%26#39;t go scuba or ziplining. Are there any reccomendations for activities I can participate in?
What CAN I do while I am pregnant?
Hi srbo!
My favorite thing to do on Kauai while pregnant was to dig a hole in the sand, plop my belly in and just enjoy laying front side down for a change!
You surely can hike, swim, snorkel and kayak while expecting. I would think you could also snuba, go on a helicopter tour or do the tropical biplane tour, and several other more tame activities, such as mountain tubing, garden tours, factory/business tours, a relaxing boat ride up to the Fern Grotto, luaus and hula shows, and just generally strolling around shopping and taking in the sights.
Plenty of things to do that won%26#39;t make you lose your lunch or anything even more precious. Lot%26#39;s of time to do the more rambunctious activities after your little one is born.

My Dr. said %26#39;no%26#39; to snuba as well... sorry srbo. There is lots of mild to moderate hiking with amazingly beautiful views, though, don%26#39;t worry. Ditto to the laying on the beach, snorkeling, visiting the lighthouse, etc. The helicopter tour is a %26#39;must do%26#39; for sure, so at least you%26#39;ll be able to partake in that! Congrats on your impending little one!
I would also think it depends where you are at in your pregnancy as well . . . and how active you are normally. I wouldn%26#39;t do anything you aren%26#39;t use to doing . . . for example, if you aren%26#39;t walking frequently, then don%26#39;t attempt a rigorous hike. If you are at the exhausted stage (beginning %26amp; end), I would think siestas on the beach sound great and of course, swimming is wonderful throughout. Just eat good and keep yourself well hydrated for the maximum of health for you and your baby. I think being pregnant on Kauai would be just wonderful! Enjoy it . . . .as next time, you%26#39;ll be chasing a kid on the beach. :)
In mid-July we went to Hawaii and I was about 6 weeks pregnant. Obviously at that stage of the game nobody knows so I went on a kayak/snorkel trip which was lots of fun, but definitely not something I could have done if I were any bigger than maybe 10 weeks. You have to be able to hoist yourself out of the water into the kayak and it%26#39;s pretty much on your stomach. I was also very nauseous but never threw up (thankfully!) so ALL food tasted nasty. I was also not allowed to parasail (per the company...couldn%26#39;t even go on the observer boat). I had to stay at the beach and just watch.
What you can do: nature hikes ( you set the pace), eating lots of great food in fabulous restaurants, shop, walk the beach, watch various shows, swimming, even some snorkeling ON YOUR OWN. I would stick to somewhat shallow water and take it super easy. Get the dry snorkel. I guess it really depends on what stage you are in the pregnancy too.
srbo....hope I am not too late with my advice. No matter what stage of your pregnancy, I would not recommend a Napli trip. Also, agree with another post......no snuba. No zipline or ATV%26#39;s. But that leaves so many other things wide open as previously mentioned. My only other advice, is to be sure you are drinking lots and lots of water and take care not to get too overheated. Aloha, you will have a blast.
