Going to the north shore soon. I%26#39;m sure we will need insect repellant. What%26#39;s your favorite?

Having stayed on the North shore three times in recent years during November, April and June we have yet to see any type of bugs during our stay. We%26#39;ve always gone prepared with bug repellent but have never had the need to take it out of my backpack. I%26#39;ve read posts warning about the bugs being bad but have not seen it myself. Supposedly repellents containing at least 30% DEET are most effctive. I bought 3M Ultrathon. Maybe it%26#39;s so good you don%26#39;t even have to open it to keep the bugs away!

I also have never had a problem until our last trip. We stayed in a rental cottage on Anini in July and the mosquitos were out in force. We hadn%26#39;t brought any repellent with us but the owners of the rentals had thoghtfully stocked the medicine cabinet with Deep Woods Off spray. We used that exclusively all of our trip and never had a problem. Good luck, Harryu

talk to your doctor as there is a vitamin you can take that comes through your skin and repels them. B12??? Avoid eating bananas and cut out the sweets candy pop etc. At one time long ago deep woods off was supposedly attracting more than repeling but they did change the formula and alot of people like it. Avon skin so soft works for some people. Utra sonic bands, plants etc but some work for some and others for others so go with vitamins as well.
