Need help with lodging under $100 on south shore

I will be visiting Kauai mid December and I%26#39;m trying to find a cottage or B and B that is decent under $100. Does anyone have any ideas?

There are a number of cottage type rentals near the south shore, but most are a little pricier. If you would consider a condo, I would recommend the Prince Kuhio. They have studio and one bedroom units right across the street from the ocean near a good snorkelingl spot. We have stayed at many more expensive places on the island over the years, and last year spent a month at Prince Kuhio in November and were quite pleasantly surprised and pleased. We had a nice ocean view from our lanai, very comfortable (but not luxurious) accomodations. They have a great grill area and a pool. If you are going in December between Thanksgiving week and Christmas week, you probably can still find an available unit there. All in your price range.

Hale Kua in Kalaheo might be in your price range. We rented their 3 bedroom 2 bath unit 5 years ago for $95 a night. (nicer than my own house) They also have 2 one bedroom units in the same hillside house, and a 1 bedroom detached cottage, and a 1 bedroom unit attached to their house. Kalaheo is a non-touristy area about 10-15 minutes from Poipu. The Classic Vacation Cottages also in Kalaheo might work for you too. Check out both web sites.

Here are a few inexpensive places that we turned up when we were planning our trip. We didn%26#39;t stay at any of these, so can%26#39;t speak from experience.

Thank you for your help--I will check these out. Classic cottages also has a B and B in Poipu called the Kauai Island B and B and I am trying to find out if it is a good place to stay. I like the idea that I can walk to beaches and restaurants. Has anyone ever heard of it?
