I need your advice.
For our last night on the island, we%26#39;ll be returning from a two-night stay in Hana, staying one night at the Maui Coast in Kihei. Our fist night in Hana will be our anniversary, so I plan on preparing a special dinner for Mama that night. But I would like to treat her to a nice, sit-down meal once we get back to civilization. I was thinking of a sunset-view table at Humuhumu%26#39;s.
I am willing to splurge just a bit for this one meal - say around $100 (that%26#39;s a splurge for me, ok?). Any suggestions for a special but not obscenely expensive restaurant in the area of the Maui Coast Hotel?
Thanks in advance for this, and for all your previous guidance.

Anniversary Dinner
$100 is a splurge for me too! It could be possible without wine and maybe sharing a dessert. I%26#39;ve also had an appetizer and salad rather than a main course, and that keeps the bill down (and I%26#39;ve always gotten filled up). Humu is in a beautiful location, so that would fit the bill for the view. We haven%26#39;t eaten there, but took a look on our last trip. It really is set right over a fish pond, so it%26#39;s something your wife will remember. Happy anniversary!
Thanks, Jbillin.
Sarento%26#39;s on the Beach is our favorite. I would say the average price we usually pay is about $100 a person but we usually order two bottles of wine, appetizers %26amp; deserts so this always adds to the bill. The sunsets are beautiful %26amp; the service excellent.
Ferraro%26#39;s at the Four Seasons could be an option too--it%26#39;s right above the beach, so you%26#39;d have a great sunset view. I just received their menu (I requested it), and appetizers are around $20, main course 30-45, so it would be close, with dessert (and you must have dessert on your last night!). You could contact Humu and other restaurants for a sample menu, so that you could compare and choose. Have fun!
We really struggle to finish a bottle of wine by ourselves, so we usually just get a glass each. I think I looked at Sorento%26#39;s a while back and thought I found some mixed reviews. I%26#39;ll do some more research.
Thanks again for the advice. Anyone have a suggestion for something closer to Kihei, or should we really just drive down to Wailea?
