Tipping Helicopter Pilots

We booked the Complete Island tour with Blue Hawaiian Helicoptors and wanted to know if anyone has tipped the pilots in the past.

Tipping Helicopter Pilots

$20 for two of us. Don%26#39;t know if that was too much or not enough but Wayne seemed pleased.

We always tip $20 as well. If we really like what we see and the pilot is especially good, I%26#39;ll give them $30.

I think $10-$20 is pretty standard (about $10 a person).

We tipped $20 for our family of 4. I noticed the other couple didn%26#39;t tip. So, it%26#39;s really all up to you.

Your replies were both fast and informative!

20 as well for the 2 of us...

My husband and I tipped our Air Kauai pilot $40. Did we overtip? Oh well, we thought it was one of the best experiences on Kauai and worth every penny...

For a good tour experience, I don%26#39;t think you can overtip. I assure you the tour guides appreciate your generosity. If nothing else, it encourages them and the company to continue to give great tours.

Yikes..did we under tip?? unfortunately ,Canadians have a rep

as being a tad on the squeaky side... :(

I don%26#39;t think you did... as I mentioned, $10 per person seems about normal. $20 per family I think would be more than fine too.

For physical tours (and I%26#39;ve only taken them a few times on Kauai, mostly on the other islands) I usually tip $5-$10 per person. I think we tipped $10 for one tour this summer and $20 for another. The later being higher bc our tour guide really went the extra mile.

I%26#39;ve never tipped a heli pilot over $20 to date for me and my wife.

Mahalo Everyone!

It%26#39;s funny ...the research that I have put into this trip could end up being a friggin term paper LOL. Seriously though ...I believe I have covered every possible aspect involving our trip now. I pride myself on doing the right thing and I wanted to make sure that we take care of the Pilot ...providing he/she does a great job.

The people here are awesome...thank you for sharing!

Always,

Jet
