We will be leaving for Maui in 16 days and so far we have the folowing planned. We will be in Maui a full 8 days not counting travel days)
Feast at Lele
Drive around the West end. (Do not want to spend the full day in the car for Hana)
Sporting Clays at Lanai
A dinner Cruise (have not book yet so any suggestions would be helpful).
Wine and nine at Kanapali
My wife is not much of a planning freak as I am, so I have backed off on this trip. Are there any suggestions for things to do on the West end that may only take a couple hours to break up our days when we are just relaxing and drinking Mai Tai%26#39;s?

You could always go to Lahaina and walk around there - do a little shopping, get some ice cream (or another Mai Tai), maybe catch the Warren and Anabelle%26#39;s show (although you%26#39;ll probably need to book that ahead of time)
How about snorkeling? Black Rock at the Sheraton is great, along with many many other places.
BTW, if you%26#39;re doing the road to Hana right, you won%26#39;t be in the car all day - most of the time you%26#39;ll be out enjoying a great hike and swimming in the pools of waterfalls. Enjoy!!

2nd on Snorkeling. If the water is too rough at Black Rock, head up to Kapalua beach. There is something very relaxing about having your face in the water - attached to a snorkel of course - and just floating on the ocean. And of course there are the fish. Do this in the morning 8 am or 9ish for the calm water.
Those of us from the northwest just don%26#39;t get a lot of ocean time in cause its too darn cold here.
As far as the Northwest goes I have been to the coast many times in Oregon and Washington and do not rember going in the water at all. Wen I ived in Florida I loved to swim with the dolphins. I think I may snorkel at least one morning.
