Helicopter on Kauai

We will be spending a week on Maui and our last 3 days will be on Kauai. I%26#39;ve heard that the Kauai helicopter trip has spectacular scenery and would really like to go.

However, I hear that it frequently rains in Kauai and with only 3 days on the island, what are my chances of getting on a helicopter?

Has anyone been on a helicopter tour of Maui? How do the two islands compare for scenery?

Helicopter on Kauai

If you have the chance, take a helicopter tour of Kauai. Of all the islands I stand by it being the best. The Big Island is a close second, but Kauai remains my top choice.

Don%26#39;t let the rain worry you... unless it%26#39;s horrible, most will still fly and the rain is only bad in a few places. On my last trip around the island in the air it was rainy almost everywhere... except the one place it almost ALWAYS rains... Wai%26#39;ale%26#39;ale Crater. The views inside the crater alone made it worth it that trip.

But seeing Na Pali from the air is a treat you shouldn%26#39;t miss :)

The helicopter trip is a must do in my books, and it may rain in some areas at some times but in my trip it really had very little effect on our activities. Wind and a foggy day did however cancel our original day, and we had to rebook several days later. Had there been more days left in our vacation I would have done it again. My on line album is here, copy %26amp; paste to see what the flight fills your eyes with.

Do NOT miss the helicopter on Kaua%26#39;i. It%26#39;s like nothing you%26#39;ve ever seen before. A little rain can be a good thing; it brings out the waterfalls.

While it does frequently rain on Kaua%26#39;i, it does on most other islands, too. Depends on where you are on the island. Mount Waialeale is the wettest spot on earth, and you%26#39;ll find a pretty rainy belt around it, but Kaua%26#39;i is mostly beautiful and sunny... somewhere. If it rains, just wait a little; it will usually quit as the trade shower blows through.

I also just remembered this... if you can, take a tours off flight. I did it on the Big Island this summer for the first time and it was incredible. I don%26#39;t think I can ever fly with the doors on again and be satisfied. Just incredible how much more vibrant everything is without the window glare.

As for videos... some are worth it, others aren%26#39;t. I bought one once from Safari and my wife and I both agree it%26#39;s not worth it. Blue Hawaiian however might have better quality. Never have bought one from them.
