I was just at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, and I was in the Garden View rooms. I recommend them. They just remodeled all the garden view rooms about 2 weeks ago, so you won%26#39;t be disappointed. Everything is NEW in those rooms. We were the first visitors in the new room. I was a bit concerned after reading the reviews online just before I left. The reviews were correct at that time, but NOW everything is new so you won%26#39;t be disappointed. About the cost of food, the prices average. There are no surprises.
If you really like sushi, I highly recommend Kintaro%26#39;s. Everything is fresh.

Thanx for the info. We%26#39;ll be there in Feb and when I called a few weeks back they were vague re: what stage the remodeling is at. I just figure we%26#39;ll be in paradise no matter what!

Thanks Feb!
That%26#39;s exactly the feedback I was looking for! We%26#39;re booked for early Feb and now we know which rooms are def. renovated!
Did you eat at the resort often? We usually like to venture out for food. Any reccomendations? Will def. check out Kintaros! We LOVE sushi! We also can%26#39;t wait to have some good poki!

I am always suspicious when someone registers on the same day they provide a rave review.
Whether the rooms are refurbished or not you can not escape the location which is across the road from the main building.
Suzie,
What do you mean about the building location? Is being across the road from the main building bad?
I called the Sheraton directly and they said the Garden rooms are indeed renovated.
Did you have a bad experience there? Let us know!
Thanks!

Here is an aerial view so you can see what I mean about being across the road. When staying in this part of the hotel you don’t really feel like you are at a resort. It’s a bit away from the lobby and the main part of the hotel. I also think that the Garden Rooms are on the small side.

what about the ocean and beach section rooms? how would you rate them?
we%26#39;re thinking about staying there a few extra nights after we leave the beachboy when we go to kauai in april.
I think those are far far superior and so worth it. The beach is very nice and actually being at the resort side of the road is really better. The ocean side rooms are a bit bigger too. I think the ocean side rooms are way closer to the ocean than any of those at the Hyatt. If you’ve been to the Hyatt you know that the resort is set back from the beach a bit.
Thanks Suzie,
We%26#39;re going to call closer to the arrival date and see if they can upgrade us to ocean front. They are planning on updating all rooms so maybe by then they will be finished for all. I see what you mean by the location of the garden building being too far back. Although I don%26#39;t know if staying in a worn and torn ocean front is any better. I like a super clean and new room. Who knows, maybe we%26#39;ll have both!

DJHS,
Have you considered a condo at Kiahuna Plantation? It is right next door to the Sheraton with no road between the buildings and the ocean. The beach is beautiful and very friendly to surfers, swimmers, boogie boarders. We rented a 1bed/1bath condo with pull-out sofa in August for $150/night. Garden view, but very clean and nice, recently remodeled. Beach view and oceanfront units can be had for more $. They do have a pool and on-site clean gas BBQs, large lawn with free beach chairs, beach/activity hut, on-site restaurant. Lots of rentals available on vrbo. Just an option you might want to consider since it is right next door to Sheraton.
Aloha!
I’m not trying to dissuade you from any plans you are making but can the oceanfront/view rooms at the Sheraton really be characterized as worn and torn? Has someone reported that those rooms are in disrepair?
