Condo Recommendation Please

Hi,

Planning a honeymoon trip for Oct 2-9 2007. Our first time to Maui. When we travel, we usually like to rent a condo, studio or one bedroom. Can anybody recommend a place they stayed at? We%26#39;re trying not to go to high over a hundred bucks a night. We%26#39;ve found several on VRBO so far but haven%26#39;t had a chance to look up the areas that they%26#39;re in. We want beach access and a pool, something with a restaurant on site or very close is preferable as well. I love to snorkel, so a good snorkeling beach would be a priority too. Thanks for your time.

No one has replied to you yet so I thought I would...even though I don%26#39;t have much personal experience to draw on.

I did a TON of research for our trip this month. Unfortunately, it%26#39;s a trip that came up pretty last minute and condos were pretty booked up.

If I could choose any condo complex to stay at? It would be the Mahana, owned by Resort Quest. Every condo is ocean front and it seems very nice/remodeled/comfy.

Mahana was sold out, thru RQ and thru VRBO so I went to plan B...the Maui Kai...located right next to the Mahana. At the Maui Kai, again everything is beachfront....the units are nice...but maybe a notch down from the Mahana.

I do recommend VRBO though, you%26#39;ll get a better rate, see the specific unit you%26#39;re renting, and form a basic relationship with the owners. My experience for this upcoming trip has been great.

Another option, further down the beach near the resorts and black rock, is the Whaler. It%26#39;s in the perfect location and I hear great things about it. The Whaler is next to the Sheraton so there would be great snorkelling for you if you walked a block up to Black Rock. It may cost a bit more than the Maui Kai and the Mahana though.

For your budget, I%26#39;d start with the Maui Kai.

I%26#39;ve also heard good things about the Papakea which is a RQ propety too.

Read the reviews in the hotel section of this site...that should help you!

Good Luck!

I like the Napili Kai. You have Napili Bay on one side and Kapalua Bay on the other.

This place is ideal for a honeymoon. You can%26#39;t go wrong staying here. Trust me on this one.

I%26#39;ve also stayed at the Napili Bay Resort and had a good time. But enjoyed Napili Kai a little more.

Best of luck and congratulations on you engagement.

Use the Noelani....we%26#39;re going there in late October, and the reviews here on tripadvisor are extremely favorable. They also have a great website with virtual video tours for some of the units, lots of nice photos, all the amenities you need.

Sorry, forgot to include the URL for the Noelani.

We stayed at the Maui Kai this past Dec and liked it. It is not luxurious, but our unit was very clean and the kitchen/living area was large. The lanai was also large and, as mentioned, oceanfront. The units all have A/C, which can be a factor any time of year, but I would definitely want A/C in early Oct. Many of the less expensive condo%26#39;s do not have A/C. There is a good snorkeling beach just a short walk down the beach toward Kaanapali, and other very nice snorkeling spots are just a short drive away, such as Kapalua Bay or Black Rock at Kaanapali. Parking is free at the Maui Kai. There is a medium-sized pool, but it is not oceanfront. There is also a jacuzzi spa. No on-site restaurant, but there are a few restaurants very close, and Whaler%26#39;s Village is a few minutes drive, and Lahaina only another 5-10 min. drive.

skip royalhawaii.comm...my experience was hey are a grab your $$$ and run company with little customer support

I can recommend the Biskis family%26#39;s condo we found on VRBO. You can look at pictures at their website meetmeonmaui.com We stayed at the 2 bedroom one and it was even better than described/pictured and the price was right.

check www.meetmeonmaui.com- all 4 condos looks fabulously remodeled. The lanai and ocean views from the Paki Maui one look ahhh, heavenly. I%26#39;d stay at one of these with just DH if someone would be brave enough to watch my 3 kids! ;)

vrbo #81672 and 103248 nice looking studios and inexpensive- $100-125 at Kaanapali Villas, nice walk to snorkle at Black Rock, close to restaurants. Congrats and good luck!

oops, I meant www. mauibeachvacation.com for the 4 condos.
