I am down to these 2 choices. Which is more romantic for a small wedding and are they perfect for sunset?
Kapiolani Park or Kakaako Park 4 wedding ceremony?
Neither : )
Kapiolani Park is a well used park for sports and activities, not a romantic choice IMO. Kakaako park has been dealing with its share of homeless lately mostly from the overflow of a new shelter.
I would go with Waialae Beach Park. Nice sunset and more private.
Kapiolani Park or Kakaako Park 4 wedding ceremony?
WOW I saw some pics...gorgeous..how far is it from Waikiki?
10 minutes. It is just one the other side of Diamond Head.
Ok thanks I will add that to my list…
1 more...is Wailea crowded? We are getting married on a thursday....
Yikes, not Wailea that%26#39;s on Maui!! : )
Waialae is not a crowded beach at all. It sits in the middle of Kahala which is an affluent section of Honolulu. You%26#39;ll get some people walking their dogs, but it will be easy to find a spot all to yourself.
I think you will find many of the locals there will be very respectful of your ceremony and privacy. It is not a touristy beach park at all.
BTW the beach can be a bit more rocky (coral) than sandy from erosion. But the setting and views cannot be beat for that side of the island!
For some reason my wedding planner does not recommend Wailea….are wedding planners pd to use certain sites?
Aloha Hawaiimarriage07
You mean “Waialae Beach Park”. For the most part, it is un-crowded at Sunset, but there could be few windsurfers and kite-surfers if the wind is blowing. It is a popular windsurfing beach. By the way, it is located in the Beverly Hills of Hawaii. Every home on the beach is $10 million plus.
Yes I did mean Waialae Beach Park...sorry...thanks guys...
I am not sure why they would rec%26#39;d Kakaako and Kapiolani over Waialae. That seems *very* strange to me. They are all public parks so anyone can go anywhere. It is a popular wedding site, so I am not sure what the problem is.
