Navatek vs. Star of Honolulu

Trying to make a decision between these two dinner cruises. Can anyone tell me the pros %26amp; cons of each? Do they have a top deck to walk around on? Thanks!

Navatek vs. Star of Honolulu

I can compare the Navatek dinner cruise and the Star of Honolulu whale watching cruise...

Navatek is a much smaller boat, newer and very smooth. However didn%26#39;t get a good sunset view because I was sitting on the wrong side of the boat and the boat didn%26#39;t turn to let everyone get a good view. The buffet dinner was very average.

I went on the Star of Honolulu whale watching cruise last year, and the food was much better and entertainment was as well, although the ship is older. Its kind of a toss up depending on the atmosphere you want, but if you want better food go with the star of honolulu. Navatek has less people and cozier atmostphere.

We also went on the Navatek and did the buffet as we waited to long to book the cruise if we did it again would probably upgrade the menu. As far as the sunset the Navatek is one of a few that goes past Diamond Head for a little different view you can also go out the deck and get photos of the coast as well as the sunset.

If anyone is your group is prone to seasickness, Navatek is the smoothest ride in the islands; BY FAR.

just got back 3 wonderful weeks in hawaii.

did the navatek do the royal ali its well worth it.

sunset was not brilliant there was cloud the night we did it

but it was still awesome.

Aloha

Although I can%26#39;t compare the two, I did do the star of honolulu dinner cruise in Sept 05. I loved it!! The food was amazing - the best lobster and blue hawaii%26#39;s i have ever tasted!!!

Excellent service and the staff were all really lovely. There is entertainment provided during the duration of night. They have two hawaiian men playing background music while you are enjoying your meal. Once dinner is finished, some island/hawaiian dancers perform. I had a really great time!

There is a large observation deck on the top of the boat, which you can use anytime during the trip. I went up and got some nice photos of the sunset and waikiki beach. But there is also side decks too, which you can use to watch the sunset if you want. (but i would recommend the top observation deck)

I really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Hope this helps!

don%26#39;t know if this matters or not - but the star of honolulu is a set 5 course menu. They don%26#39;t offer a buffet, so you don%26#39;t have to worry about waiting in long lines. You get two cocktails included in the price of dinner. - DELICIOUS FOOD!! AWESOME COCKTAILS!!

We%26#39;ve been on both of these ships along with the Ali%26#39;i Kai and had a wonderful time on all three. It just depends how much $ you want to spend. The Star so Honolulu is a much bigger ship with different levels of dining. The others have buffet style dining. They all have good intertainment and feel free to wonder around the ship for photo ops.

If you go to the ';search'; function on this page, type in ';navatek'; hit ';go';, read that stuff then type in ';Star of Honolulu'; and ';go';, you will get a BUNCH of info for your edification. Chuck
