Hey--
Does anyone know which are the best beginning surfing lessons on MAui? I%26#39;m trying to decide between Royal Lahaina Surf Academy and Goofy Foot for some lessons for my teenagers.

Our kids had a great time with Goofy Foot, plus whle they were having their lesson, my husband and I were enjoying lunch at PacificO%26#39;s - we could see them from our ocean front table!

Thanks for your info--I%26#39;m hearing more about Goofy Foot than any other place so it must be pretty good. I think I%26#39;ll do that lunch thing while my kids are at their lesson too--great idea!
We had 5 kids take multiple lessons over a week%26#39;s time at Goofy foot in Lahina, Maui. Suggestions: Choose instructor carefully. Skills vary greatly. Tim was a great teacher %26amp; a nice guy. Others not so good. Check ocean conditions. If conditions look poor, cancel %26amp; pick another day. Lahina can get very crowded, especially weekends. Many surf schools use this area. On poor days, everyone gets packed into a small area where the waves break- result is fewer rides %26amp; students crashing into one-another. You%26#39;ll end up paying a lot of money for floating around waiting for a wave. Remember, no refunds. Goofy foot requires cash only (no credit cards) ! Great pro photographer works with Goofy Foot.
Another vote for Goofy Foot. Our kids 17, and 14 loved it. We also took the advice of others and ate lunch at Pacific-O%26#39;s. The kids did the 11am school. We watched close up for the first hour and by distance for the last hour while eating lunch. When the kids were done they walked right past us back to the school. Photographer got some amazing shots, make sure you add this. You leave right away with a CD . I think it was only $15 extra. Well worth it.
