Trip Report 9/5 - 9/16 w/ Pics
Great albums! There are some amazing shot in there. What sort of equipment did you use? Do you bring a tripod, or did you manage to find a lot of nice people to take your picture?
We%26#39;ll be there on our honeymoon in less than two months....thanks to you guys I%26#39;m getting impatient!
Nice pics. Which tour did you guys take for the Na Pali boat ride?
Nice photos - such a cute newlywed couple! (I promise not to tell anyone about the bachelor weekend photos!!)
Awesome Pics guys! Thanks for sharing. My wife and I have been waiting for 8 months to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and the time is nearly here. 7 nights in Kauai/ Wailua Bay first week of November!!!
Looks like you had loads of fun, any MUST DOES you would recommend?
thanks for the comments.
I was using a digital rebel xt and carried the tripod strapped to my backpack most of the time. definitely need the tripod to get nice waterfall shots.
I%26#39;m not sure if I can pick my favorite activity, I liked all of them. We did the boat tour with napali explorers on their explorer 2 boatt, zipline with kauai backcountry, and atv with kipu ranch. We had great experiences with all the guides and would recommend each of them. For the ATV ride we were even fortunate enough to only have 1 other couple in the group, so it was nice and private.
On my must do list it would definitely be going to see waimea canyon and going on to the kalalau lookout. It was totally fogged in when we got there so we explorered the first half of the pihea trail and at a few points it opened up for some incredible views down to the ocean. If I had it all to do again I would definitely spend more days hiking around all the trails in the canyon. I thought 11 days would be plenty of time, it went way too fast!
Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing. We are going next week, and this got us even more hyped about it!
Who did you take the biplane ride with? Was it cold? My husband is nervous over a helicopter ride, so I am hoping to talk him into this.
Thanks, I have been looking at the digital rebel cameras since before my trip a couple of weeks ago and hadn%26#39;t decided to get one yet. You just made the decision for me. Sure wish I had had it on our trip.
Just looked at more of your photos ( am supposed to be working) and can%26#39;t believe how adorable you guys are. We did the Wapioo hike last year and just loved it. My husband loves to show the pictures and brag about being on top of a 800 foot waterfall. Your pictures just made the day for me. Not to mention, I have a major purchase decision made! Great, great photos!
You can pick up a new XT pretty cheap (relatively speaking) now that the XTi is out, but you might want to go with the latest and greatest, not sure what the differences are.
The biplane ride was through these guys: http://www.tropicalbiplanes.com/. We had an excellent time. I thought it might be cold but it wasn%26#39;t, the pilot said it was only 7 degrees cooler than on the ground. You aren%26#39;t going very fast or very high, perfectly comfortable in t-shirt and shorts. We did the hour long tour and it seemed short.
get back to work hikergirl!
