Snorkel Trips

Thanks for all the advice on Maui. On another subject, I have read about the 4x4 trips and it%26#39;s something we won%26#39;t be able to do (back problems) with that said, are there any companies that take you out on a snorkel excursion? Which was are best. We plan to snorkel at the hotel but I thought it would be nice to do an excursion as well. Also is it worth it to bring snorkel gear or is the hotels pretty decent.

Also is there any other way to get to Molokai besides flying? If so what would we do there?

Thanks!

Snorkel Trips

It has been awhile since we have been to Lanai so the info I am passing along may have changed.

Most snokel excursions go TO Lanai from Maui. I seem to recall there was a once a week one that originated on Lanai. I am sure the 4S can assist with that.

As to getting to Molokai, it is swim, fly or ferry to Maui then ferry to Molokai.

Snorkel Trips

I have found some of the best snorkeling in the islands is at Hulopoe Beach on Lana%26#39;i (in front of the Manele Bay Hotel). But Trilogy does run some boat trips out of Lana%26#39;i too, so I recommend checking with the FS on what is currently being offered. I once took one of the rigid inflatable rafts with Trilogy, but that would not be good fo the back either.

I think the snorkel gear is just fine at Manele, unless you need ones with corrective lenses. I don%26#39;t think they have those. I just wear my contacts when snorkeling.

And BB is right, no direct way from Lana%26#39;i to Molokai unless you charter a small plane. I think you will find more than enough to do on Lana%26#39;i, and make sure you leave some time to just relax.
