Can anyone comment on a recent stay here?
Marriott Maui Ocean Club
We just returned yesterday. We own a timeshare at the Marriott. If you have children and like an active pool, it%26#39;s great. Our son, his wife, and our grandchildren really enjoyed it. For me, it is simply noisy and crowded. The staff is very amenable. We were not happy with our unit overlooking a crane and above the trash bins. Just don%26#39;t accept a room in the Molokai tower on the side of the building where construction is occuring. We are also not happy with their policy of expecting guests to attend a sales pitch in the guise of updating us on the property. The restaurants are so-so, but that is not a problem since there are so many other choices within walking distance. Do you have any specific concerns?
Marriott Maui Ocean Club
We have reservations at Marriott Maui Ocean Club for the 1st week of October, 2006. I was just curious about the construction. Where should we request a room in the resort? I want to be far from the construction %26amp; would love an ocean view. Please help!
Has anyone stayed here lately? I hope to call ahead to request a room far from the construction %26amp; need advice.
Are you going as an owner at MOC or as an exchange guest. I am not sure they will treat you differently, however, I would suspect that MOC owners get preference regarding room locations.
Regarding the property, we stayed their (as a MOC owner) in late August of this year. The construction that was mentioned is taking place on the Mountain View side of the Lanai Towers. To date, no construction has started opposite the Molokai Towers ( projected for late 2007 thru 2008 0r 09).
The room type you have booked (garden, mountain, ocean or oceanfront) will heavily influence your room location. If you are garden or mountain you might not be able to avoid the construction. If you have an ocean or oceanfront than you will have some options.
The Lanai Tower was ';updated'; first. Most of the units in this tower are in pretty good shape. The Molokai Towers was suppose to start their ';update'; in September. You could potentially get an ';older'; unit so be sure to ask before arrival. Speaking of arrival, the MOC assigns their rooms 1 -2 weeks before your arrival. Although they will not tell you the exact unit, they will tell you what tower you will be in. If you get the construction zone, that is the time to complain. Overall it is a GREAT property. Have fun!
We are Disney Vacation Club members but can exchange to stay at this place--and we are looking into it for next summer. I cannot wait to go back to Maui (since we spent our honeymoon there) and would love to hear more feedback. We are a couple in our early 30s (no kids--but are not upset when there are lots around--we%26#39;re used to Disney!) Any suggestions or tips about the MOC?
we stayed there in August. What a great location!!! Construction was happening but didnt hear it at all. The pool and beach area are wonderful. We traded for there and hope to do it for summer 07. The units are timeshare units. We had a 1 bdrm and 2 bathrooms. I thought the furniture wasnt tropical enough and suggested they update the furniture. I also thought your initial impression of the place could be better. Then I walked to where owner services and looked outside. I couldnt believe the view. You will love it there. Who cares if the furniture isnt tropical? Enjoy.
We loved the location right on Kaanapali beach next to t he Hyatt and near Whalers Village. We loved the on site amenities, the poolside caf茅 is great for lunch and coffee. The on site restaurant Va Bene is nicely located and had the best food and great service. We even ate there twice, something we hardly ever do. Easy walk to Black Rock for snorkeling and watching the torch lighting ceremony. I would go back in a minute but did much prefer staying at the Hyatt.
We also ate and drank at Whalers Village at Hula Grill and Leilanis close by.
Hey I%26#39;m going to the Maui Ocean Club on Sunday. Can anyone tell me if there is a washer/dryer on each floor? I don%26#39;t see them in the room.
many washers and dryers are located downstairs on the way to pool. Elevator down to pool and washers are right there in Molaki Tower, I think have a wonderful trip
Happy,
There is a laundry room with several coin operated washers and dryers near the hair salon on the ground floor between the two main towers. The also sell small boxes of detergent and fabric softener and have a change machine there along with some coin operated video games for the kids. Have a great trip!!!!!
