Polynesian Cultural Center Dinner Option Inquiry

There%26#39;s a lot of remarks regarding the PCC, both good and bad. I think we%26#39;re going to go ahead and go. I%26#39;d like to ask recommendatons on dining option. It appears the PCC offers either a Luau or bufffet. Is food better in one vs. the other? Does the Luau provide a show as well? Or, if we were leave the site for dinner, then return for the Horizons show, what restaurants in the area are recommended? Seems like the PCC is in the middle of nowhere so I was wondering what might be dinner options outside the attraction. Thanks.

The luau does provide a show but its mostly singing. The good show is Horizons. There are some restaurants around that area, fast food etc. The buffet luau food was alright. I am glad we did it because were stayed close and went right to the Horizons show after eating.

We bought the Ambassador Luau package.

At PCC, here%26#39;s the ';skinny'; on the Ali%26#39;i Luau:

It is average entertainment with average food. There are no games or demonstrations at the Ali%26#39;i Luau like at other luaus. There are far more games/demonstrations at PCC than any other luau, but they are in the villages that you visit during the daytime.

There is no fire knife dancing at the Ali%26#39;i Luau. Their main evening show, %26#39;Horizons%26#39; has the fire knife dancing and it is the best in all of Hawaii.

The Ali%26#39;i Luau package is $30 more than the ';regular package'; that includes the villages, the canoe pageant, IMAX, canoe rides and %26#39;Horizons%26#39;.

The Ali%26#39;i Luau package also includes great upgraded seats for %26#39;Horizons%26#39; and a lei greeting.

Is it worth the extra $30 for the Ali%26#39;i Luau? That%26#39;s up to you.

They also have a separate buffet that starts at 5pm. No entertainment %26amp; no upgraded seats for %26#39;Horizons%26#39; %26amp; no lei greeting. This is $15 %26amp; you can add that on when you get to PCC. The food is better at this buffet than at the Ali%26#39;i Luau. And you can eat as much and for as long as you want at this buffet.

When anyone compares the Ali%26#39;i Luau by itself to other luaus, the Ali%26#39;i Luau is not as good.

But, when one compares the overall entertainment at PCC including the villages, the canoe pageant, %26#39;Horizons%26#39;, the Ali%26#39;i Luau etc, PCC is much better.

You also have the option at PCC to leave (about 5pm when the villages start shutting down) %26amp; eat in a restaurant in Laie or get some takeout %26amp; go to a nearby north shore beach or Laie Point and then go back to PCC for %26#39;horizons%26#39;.

There is a McDonalds right next to PCC %26amp; a strip mall with several restaurants in Laie.
